Scriptorium

Welcome to this, my scriptorium: a humble place of tales told by the weary roadside; of fabrications weaved by a loom of imagination and thought; a place where wonder, fear, and, less often, triumph, hold dominion. Welcome to the world of Uhl.

The Four Fiefdoms of Men. The Thanes in the Mountains where dwell the Dwarves. Fabled Isia, capital city of the Eslar. Haunted Shantywall. Drax-Korrum, City of Assassins. The Forbidden Island of the Last High King. These are just some of the places of Uhl.

Its peoples are Men, possessed with fortitude, intelligence, and an unrivaled desire for knowledge; the Eslar, a blue-black skinned people known for their taciturn nature and higher knowledge of sorcery and science; the Krill, a feline race who protect their solitude by slaying any who trespass on their lands; Dwarves, as dour and boisterous as you know them; and the Sitheri, a reptilian people who, as initiates, set out into the world, unable to return to their own lands until they've slain a hundred foes.

Come, share in their stories, and think the fantastic: sorcery, elemental magic, beasts without names, and places that defy imagination. Heroes you wish you were, and villains you wish you never have to meet beyond the words on a page. It is a world where alchemy and science work alongside wizardry, a world where the gods have destroyed themselves once and for all so that not even their shadows darken one's doorstep.

This is Uhl. Come, read it's stories.

The Hall of the Wood

fantasy novel

Jed's wife and unborn child are dead, killed by a legacy he dare share with no one. Seeking a reprieve from his guilt, he sets out for his former home, the Ranger Hall of the Wood. Along the way, he discovers all is not well. Aliah Starbough, a friend from Jed's past, sends him a chilling warning: the rangers are dead, the Simarron Forest, thrown into peril. Nearby Homewood has issued a plea for help, a summonings which Kayra Weslin, knight errant, and her chronicler, Holly, answer. Along with Murik Alon Rin'kres, an Eslar sorcerer who harbors a secret purpose all his own, the four attempt to unravel the mystery of the missing rangers. They soon find tales of their disappearance frighteningly untrue.
