About Scott Marlowe
Who Am I?
Just a guy trying to get published.
I write fantasy adventure. Suspense, intrigue, magic, swordplay--that's what it's all about. It's good stuff. I think so, anyway. Now, I just need to convince a publisher...
Ever had anything published?
Yes! Way, way back when I was about twenty or so, I had a short story published in a now (most likely) defunct small mag based in Oregon. I don't know the size of their subscriber base; it was more than likely small. But it was my first submission ever, and it was accepted! At the time, it made me feel good. I received a few rejections after that, but then got sidetracked with this pesky career in software engineering of which I am still beholden. I'm really just now re-embracing my love of writing.
Any samples of your writing?
You can download and read my first novel, The Hall of the Wood, in its entirety.
Why Blog?
I blog to organize my thoughts and to share information. The content of either of those varies from day-to-day, though I try to stay on the topic of writing and getting published. I enjoy feedback and interacting with other like-minded individuals, so feel free to shoot me an email or find me on one of the social outlets on the right.
What do you do outside of writing?
I'm a lead software engineer, so I enjoy programming and messing around with things like unit testing, Silverlight, WCF, and web services. If that sounds too boring, I'm also an avid mountain biker and sometime hiker. I've biked or hiked in various places across Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, California, Washington, and Hawaii. I feature photos from my various vacations as part of my Weekend Links series if you're interested.
